Intel Itanium-Based Systems Poised for Production
Computer manufacturers are expected to introduce initial Intel Itanium-based servers and workstations in June, Intel Corporation said today. The company expects approximately 25 computer manufacturers to offer more than 35 models this year, as hundreds of hardware, software and application vendors provide products that support Itanium-based systems.

Hitachi
today announced the world's first DVD-RAM camcorder. The DZ-MV100A, now
available to the consumer market, records DVD-quality MPEG video or JPEG
still photos onto a removable eight centimeter DVD disc. The disc holds
one hour of high quality video, two hours of video at standard quality
or 1,998 JPEG images at the resolution of 1280 x 960, and can be re-recorded
100,000 times without image degradation.
