Maintaining News Quality Standards with Citizen Journalism
Every TV news department has been hit with staff and budget cuts at the same time they are being told they must improve the quality of their work. One "solution" that has been advanced is soliciting consumer spot news content or as management likes to call the folks, "citizen journalists." Problem is most of the content received is garbage. BoinxTV
Boinx, the developers of Boinx TV (BTV) have a very interesting and unique program
I have to admit that the first time I heard the name "Boinx TV", I had to chuckle a little. A very interesting name for a product I knew very little about. I had heard that it was a "one-man production studio," to which I thought "yeah, right!" Well, needless to say Boinx, the developers of Boinx TV (BTV), have a very interesting and unique program.

Instant artwork from photography
Alien Skin Software has recently come out with its new plug-in called Snap Art. This is actually version 2, an upgrade to the previous offering which changes your photos (or any artwork you might have) into something that looks more painterly.
Going one better: RED editing and what Vegas 9 has under the hood
There's a substantial history of camera technology being released to the public before the technology of post-production has caught up. HDV springs as an obvious example where the long-GOP structure was fantastically efficient for image acquisition and recording but presented considerable issues for non-linear editing systems traditionally reliant on individual frames and not groups-of-pictures. AVCHD presents the same issue where shooting is easy but timeline performance is less than stellar. And Sony's XDCAMEX is a great balance of quality and efficiency but it's wrapping in an Mp4 format initially gave many NLE's considerable trouble.
Bud Light Lime Serves-Up Summer State of Mind in High-Profile Broadcast Spots from Stardust and DDB Chicago
Bicoastal U.S. creative production company Stardust Studios is very proud to detail its close collaborations with the creative team from DDB Chicago for Bud Light Lime. For the project, one :30 and two :15 design-intensive broadcast spots entitled "The Summer State of Mind" created by Stardust debuted on May 10 during high-profile U.S. primetime broadcast coverage, like the 2009 NBA playoffs, and continue to air widely.
