Real-World XML: Part 9 of 12
Serializing XML To A String
Serializing is basically the process of converting an XML document to a format that can be saved like a string. You would like to do this for several reasons. First, you can use it for saving XML content either to a file or some other persistent method, whether it's a stream or something like that. You can also use this to interchange XML content with another system.

Let's move on and take a look at how we would add some entry tags to our Atom feed. You can see here on the screen I have a basic entry and it looks something like this XML construct. You can see that there's an entry tag that wraps some other tags. There's a title, a link and an id and updated date and a summary.
Adobe CS5 Web Premium Part One: Illustrator and Photoshop
Our three-part review kicks off with two elder statesmen
Adobe CS5 is finally shipping, so over the next few weeks we'll looking at the major programs which comprise the Web Premium package, starting off with the old stalwarts of the group. Now, it's somewhat hard to believe that 2010 marks Photoshop's 20th anniversary, with Illustrator having been around for a few years even before that, but here we are. Both products have certainly seen a lot of design trends and operating systems come and go in their time, but lest I take a long, nostalgic detour down software memory lane, let's simply get to the latest and greatest.
