Content Insider #254 - Paperless Kits
Trade Show PR Mining? It's Not Just the Fastest, Biggest Gun
You've either said it or heard it, "Kids today have it so easy!" That's sure true of publicists when it comes to conventions/trade shows. No copying 20 releases/stuff, collating/stuffing folders, lugging them to the show, redoing 4-5 of the write-ups and restuffing, lugging to the press room, saying goodbye to your creative genius. It was great physical exercise! Then there are the hours, days of smiling/dialing to talk people into coming by...well because. Paper cuts and phone ear were badges of honor but now it's work that leaves no visible scars. No it's not about your Likers or Followers, it's about developing real relationships that extend year-round, having meetings with a purpose (for both parties) and producing results without a stack of paper.

With a variety of projects under their belts, such as music videos, feature and short films, advertising campaigns, promotional materials and corporate productions, the duo jumped at the chance to act as stereographers and directors of photography for their alma mater's RMIT3DV project: the creation of an uncompressed stereoscopic 3D HD video library.
Petabytes are the New Terabytes
Digital storage plays an enormous role in the creation, distribution and use of rich media content. In addition, higher resolution content places increased demands on content archiving. The 2013 Storage Visions Conference (SV 2013, www.storagevisions.com), a partner event to the 2013 CES in Las Vegas, taking place January 6 & 7, 2013 will explore the implications to digital storage of all elements of the content value chain. The conference theme, based upon the growth in storage demand to meet rich media requirements, is "Petabytes are the New Terabytes." This article will explore trends driving the storage requirements for rich media that will be among the topics discussed at SV 2013. Much of the content here is extracted from the 2012 Digital Storage for Media and Entertainment Report from Coughlin Associates (http://www.tomcoughlin.com/techpapers.htm).
