ATEM a Run-away Success at Graduate Fashion Week
Encouraging and nurturing raw young talent, Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) is one of the largest international platforms of its kind. Showcasing the future of fashion, more than 1,000 aspiring designers descended on London during June for Graduate Fashion Week 2013. Made up of 22 catwalk shows and an exhibition with more than 40 universities participating, the four day event culminated in a gala awards ceremony hosted by designer Henry Holland and television presenter Zara Martin. The official production partner for GFW is Fashion Scout International (FSI), having won the contract two years ago. Seeking to step up the shows video production quality, FSI brought onboard Brightonart Ltd, who have for the past two seasons worked with FSI during London Fashion Week.
One Direction, Many Inputs, But No Bottlenecks
There is even an iPad app for controlling the Videohub!
When One Direction, the British Irish boy band sensation, took on a rigorous tour covering the UK and Ireland, Europe, North America and Australasia, video production was of prime importance. The 120 date tour, which began in February, has seen the boy band sensation performing to sold out audiences including a six date sell out at the O2 Arena in London, so the action on stage had to be seen by everyone. This meant having multiple live relay IMAG (image-magnification) screens positioned around the stage and at strategic points in the auditorium. Throw in stage monitors pumping out graphics of cityscapes, sometimes mixed with the onstage performance, and you have a lot of video content to handle.

Using Prodrenalin To Save Your Video!
Remove fisheye, stabilize, fix noise effects and other distortions
If you are the proud owner of a GoPro (or similar such as the Sony Action Cam or the Kaiser Baas Sports Cam) you'll be all too familiar with a few problems. Not the least of these is the sheer amount of camera shake followed by distorted footage due to the 'rolling shutter' effect of these cameras. Also in the equation is fish eye distortion, and who hasn't missed that the camera wasn't exactly level when shooting? Or you need to flip video 180 degrees as the camera could only be mounted upside down. This is where ProDad Prodrenalin comes in.
The RØDE Podcaster Microphone
The magic bits inside the mic can do this better than the majority of on-board computer sound boards
An often overlooked aspect of video is the voice over dialogue. Of course this needs a good mic... While there are many, many 'broadcast' mics available to perform this, for many hobbyists and professionals not creating actual broadcast video, these are overkill and let's face it, probably too expensive. This is where the RØDE Podcaster Mic comes into its own.

Canon's XA20 Professional Camcorder
Is it better than the Canon XA10?
Some time back we awarded the Canon XA10 Auscam's Camcorder of the Year. It was a truly ground breaking beast with its professional features such as twin XLRs, superb low light capability, brilliant lens and all crammed into a wonderfully ergonomic but small and light compact form factor. So what has changed in the XA20, and is it better?
