Improvements and low price make this software a steal
by Stephen Schleicher
With
the huge number of blockbuster movies set to hit the market during the
coming holiday season, techno-geeks and movie buffs are sure to be talking
about all of the special effects and how they were created. There are
many packages that might initially spring to mind when talking about
pulling off fancy film foolery, but one that's underrated is Commotion
Pro 4.0 from Pinnacle Systems.

Footage Resources
Stock and royalty free resources abound on the Internet
by John Virata
Stock footage and royalty free images are great ways to augment original
content in your video projects as well as in interactive multimedia, DVD
projects, print, PowerPoint and other presentations. The Internet is an
excellent resource to search for content that fits your specific needs.
Need a video of Old Glory waving proud? There is a company offers it,
often in varying degrees of image quality and resolutions that are suitable
for web, CD-ROM, and all the way up to broadcast quality.

Plasma screens were in full force at InfoComm 2001
by David English
Considering the emphasis on projectors at InfoComm shows, you might think
that monitors and other direct display systems would have to take a back
seat. That certainly wasn’t true at this year’s InfoComm. Plasma screens
were in full force on the show floor, as well as in hospitality suites,
at dealer events and at press gatherings.

Functionality to pressure-sensitive tablets
by David Nagel
I
bought Mac OS X on the first day of its release, used it for a few weeks
and then switched back to OS 9.0.4. There were several reasons for this,
including slow performance and a lack of the functionality to which
I've become accustomed. But the main reason was that I couldn't use
my graphics tablet. After all, if you've been using a pressure-sensitive
tablet, switching back to a mouse for creating art is like cutting off
your drawing arm.
